If you prefer fresh water fish, only on 5km from Biograd you will find Vransko lake, one of the largest lakes in Croatia, and a protected nature park. It is possible to catch many freshwater fish varieties, among them carp, pike, eel, crucian carp, whitting, etc. 

Around the lake there is a cycling track that is 38km long. You can also camp by the lake, in the camp Crkvine. 

Fishing license is required, daily fishing license you may acquire also on the spot, or in the headquarters of the Nature Park Vransko jezero ( Biograd na moru, Kralja Petra Svacica 2, tel: ++385 23 383 181, e-mail: pp-vransko-jezero(at)zd.t-com.hr; web: www.vransko-jezero.hr).
