equipment, basic navigating maneuvers, shortening sails, steering,
avoiding collisions on the sea, and so on are taught. Furthermore,
participants acquire other necessary knowledge such as
aerodynamics of the sails, navigation, meteorology and first aid.

REGATTA
COURSE - ON INQUIRY
|

If you
wish to try the competitive sailing, we have prepared for you the
regatta course.
This
course is fit only for those participants who have the knowledge
level that corresponds with the graduates of our advanced course:
sailing with spinnaker, tack, jibing, trimming of sails,
navigation...
Program includes: history of regattas and sorts of regatta fields,
crew and ship preparation for the regatta, trimming of sails and
mast, regatta rules, tactics of start and sailing, signals in the
starting procedure, protesting, applying for a regatta etc.
We are sailing in front of Jezera, and every day we practice until
Friday afternoon, when we start towards the place where we
participate in the first regatta. That would be Zadar, Biograd or
Split.
If you wish, you may worm up before the classes start, with
running or in a gym. It will be hard but interesting...

SAIL - ON INQUIRY

introducing to FALKUSA, learning the names of the ship parts and
traditional words for respective maneuvers, equipment of the ship,

marina expenses for time spent away from the main marina. Tourist tax per
person per day € 1.00. Accommodation on the beginner's and spinnaker
course (accommodation SAY apart hotel 100 Kn (13,50 €) per person per

The RYA is the UK s national association for all forms
of recreational and competitive boating, representing
sailing, motor cruising, sports boats, windsurfing,
inland boating, powerboat racing and personal
watercraft. It coordinates competition and/or
development for all of the above at local, national
and international level and is recognized by
government as the negotiating body for these groups.
The RYA s training schemes for powered and sailing
craft provide the de-facto qualifications for
skippers, instructors and water sports professionals
worldwide.
RYA
courses include Start sailing, Competent crew, Day
skipper and Coastal skipper levels. On all
courses, accommodation is on board, prices include
stay, tuition, course materials fuel, parking
fees, visitors tax, exam fees, RYA certificates and
VAT. The prices will not include flight or other
transportation to/from the base, personal, medical and
travel insurance, national park entry fees, ferries,
food and drinks, accommodation ashore outside the
course duration. Start sailing lasts 2 days, while all
the others last 5 days.
Start
sailing and Competent crew levels require
no prior experience and knowledge, and they will
together provide basic seamanship and helmsmanship.
The
Day skipper course requires 5 days sea time, 100
ml sail and 4 hours of nighttime sailing, basic
navigation and helmsmanship knowledge. After this
course one is able to skipper a yacht in familiar
waters by daytime.
The
Coastal skipper course requires 15 days sea
time with 2 days as skipper, 300 ml under sail and 8
hours night sailing, knowledge of navigation to
Coastal skipper shorebased standard and knowledge of
sailing to Day skipper practical standard. After this
advanced course, graduates are able to expand their
cruising range offshore and into unfamiliar waters.
